A law firm is seeking an Attorney for their Oakland, CA office.

Job Overview:

The Attorney will manage their own caseload, overseeing all aspects of claims and cases, from client intake through pre-litigation, litigation, and trial. Significant participation in at least three jury trials is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of Plaintiff personal injury experience. Being bilingual is a plus. A valid CA license is required.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload independently, overseeing all phases of claims and cases.
  • Handle client intake, including initial consultations and case evaluations.
  • Conduct pre-litigation activities, including investigation, negotiation, and settlement discussions.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, focusing on Plaintiff personal injury cases.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a caseload independently.
  • Proven track record of participation in jury trials, with at least three trials preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus, particularly in Spanish.
