A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will work on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals, with responsibilities including:

Job Overview:

  • Handle all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals.
  • Draft complex case evaluations and prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Manage complex disputes, including overseeing discovery and conducting legal research.
  • Take and defend depositions, work with fact witnesses and experts, and liaise with clients, witnesses, and other counsel.

Duties:

  • Drafting complex case evaluations and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other documents for court cases and arbitrations.
  • Managing complex disputes, including overseeing discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions).
  • Taking and defending depositions and related work with fact witnesses and experts.
  • Working with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
  • Conducting legal research and writing memoranda.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of complex litigation experience.
  • Proven analytic ability and excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills.
  • Conscientious with resourcefulness in problem-solving.
  • Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus.
  • Class action litigation experience is a plus.
  • Deposition and court experience are preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California and be in good standing.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and case management skills.
  • Direct experience handling clients and adversaries.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Savvy with e-discovery, data/document management applications, and related technologies.
  • Previous law firm experience.
  • Embraces teamwork and values collaboration.
