A law firm in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 3+ years of experience in defense or 4+ years in representing WC applicants. The candidate will handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, including depositions, appearances at the WCAB, case responsibility, client communication, strategy development, negotiation, settlement, and drafting pleadings and reports.

 

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation
  • Take depositions and make appearances at the WCAB
  • Assume responsibility for cases of varying complexity
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Develop strategies for efficient case resolution
  • Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief and liens
  • Draft pleadings and reports
  • Maintain familiarity with WCAB procedures and California Workers' Compensation laws

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or 4+ years in representing WC applicants
  • Valid California State Bar License

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Valid California State Bar License

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures
  • Excellent litigation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle cases independently and as part of a team
