A law firm in Sacramento, CA, seeks an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The attorney will be responsible for defending a wide range of employment-related claims in various legal forums. This role demands a proactive approach to defending and litigating lawsuits, providing legal advice, and training employers on employment and labor law issues.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving various employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, employment contracts, employment torts, and non-compete matters.
  • Represent employers in court or arbitration before administrative agencies, mediations, and employment matters, including class/collective actions.
  • Advise and counsel employers on various employment and labor law issues to help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employers on legal practices and compliance with employment laws.
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, including developing strategy, conducting discovery, and engaging in settlement negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • At least 2 years of experience in employment law, with strong litigation experience preferred.
  • Current California Bar admission is in good standing.
  • Understanding of current procedures for both state and federal agencies.
  • Class Action and PAGA experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills capable of managing multiple cases efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
