Tax Manager - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations)

Deloitte is currently seeking a strategic and creative Tax Manager with experience serving real estate owners and operators to join our Real Estate Services Tax practice. This role is available in 28 different locations across the Central Region and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tax technologies while developing and pursuing creative strategies for clients in the real estate industry. If you have a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules, and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, then this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector.
- Work directly with clients, manage the tax engagement team, and have access to an elite group of specialists when needed.
- Utilize state-of-the-art technology to assist clients in streamlining their tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships in the real estate industry.
- Advise clients on a variety of tax issues, including REIT Qualification, impact of Tax Reform, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing leadership, counseling, career guidance, and guidance on work/life fit.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of total corporate or international tax experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA, JD, Enrolled Agent, CFA, or CFP certification.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Strong understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, and tax compliance.
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm is preferred.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated management experience.

Compensation:

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience, and training. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials, and at Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,980 to $169,650. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program.
