Job Description:

PlayStation Global, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join their team in San Mateo, CA. This role will require the candidate to come into the office twice a week, with the option for remote work otherwise.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice on trademark and copyright issues to business teams
- Oversee trademark prosecution and maintenance of registrations
- Manage trademark oppositions and disputes
- Draft and negotiate trademark and copyright agreements
- Support copyright protection and domain name registration initiatives
- Advise on IP aspects of transactions and post-closing integration
- Educate Legal and company members on IP considerations through trainings and resource development

Minimum Qualifications:

- 12+ years of experience with trademark and copyright issues, with 2+ years in a law firm
- JD or LLM degree from top law school; CA bar membership preferred
- Registered In-House Counsel status in California or willingness to acquire and maintain during employment

Ideal Candidate:

- Experienced in providing practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating agreements, particularly in trademarks and copyrights
- Knowledgeable in intellectual property litigation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dedicated to client service and attention to detail
- Strong presentation skills and ability to educate others on IP in engaging ways
- Familiar with protecting consumer brands in the technology industry
- Passionate about branding

PlayStation offers a hybrid office/remote working model, with the option to work remotely except for monthly commutes to the San Mateo office. West Coast and Mountain Time Zone candidates will be considered.

Salary and Benefits:

- Estimated base pay range: $246,700 - $370,100 USD
