A law firm in Burbank, CA is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney with at least 7 years of personal injury law experience. The successful candidate will supervise a team of discovery clerks, paralegals, and litigation secretaries, overseeing all aspects of litigated cases from filing to trial/settlement.

 

Job Duties:

  • Supervise a team to work up cases for settlement/preparation for trial
  • Organize and oversee the progression of litigated cases from filing to trial/settlement
  • Work with partners, associates, and support staff to manage cases effectively
  • Propound and respond to discovery, draft motions, briefs, and meet-and-confer letters
  • Review legal documents and correspondence prepared by staff
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and provide guidance to staff and clients
  • Meet with clients in-person, attend depositions, court hearings, and trials
  • Prepare legal documents including briefs, motions, and other relevant paperwork
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records
  • Supervise paralegals and administrative assistants

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in California, in both state and federal courts
  • 7+ years of personal injury law experience
  • Thorough understanding of civil procedure and trial advocacy
  • Experience with law and motion practice in both state and federal courts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • California State Bar admission

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic guidance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
