Job Overview: A law firm in University Place, WA, is seeking an Attorney I with a Juris Doctor degree and 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills, trial experience, and the ability to effectively communicate and advise clients.

Duties:

  • Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues.
  • Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
  • Marketing your and the firm’s services to prospective clients.
  • Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
  • Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Communicating and advising clients.
  • Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficiently reach production/collection objectives.
  • Closing consults within the Firm's range of 30-50% depending on practice area.
  • Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis.
  • Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
  • Accurately and completely update CC with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices, etc. as required.
  • If over-subscribed, share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the firm is meeting its objective to serve communities.
  • Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs, social media posts, board and organization participation, etc.
  • Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal research skills.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to WA Bar.
  • 3+ years of experience as an attorney.

Preferred:

  • Mediation experience.
  • Trial experience.
