A law firm in Palo Alto is seeking a Private Equity Resource Attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US private equity corporate/transactional practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with the M&A resource attorney and knowledge management team to assist with M&A/private equity (PE) data and experience input and maintenance and will have strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills. The Private Equity Resource Attorney will be responsible for providing support to the firm's private equity practice group, including assisting with drafting template documents, curating and organizing forms and precedents, monitoring legal and regulatory developments, and contributing to training and marketing efforts. This role requires expertise in private equity transactions, strong drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with the M&A resource attorney and knowledge management team to assist with M&A/PE data and experience input and maintenance
  • Prepare drafts or revise existing precedent of template documents
  • Curate and organize the PE group's forms, precedents, and other know-how
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relative to PE practice and the firm's core industry verticals
  • Develop and maintain the internal landing page for the PE group
  • Coordinate with the firm's legal education team to prepare content for associate trainings and other firmwide training efforts relative to PE
  • Work closely with the PE/M&A marketing team to strategize on firm PE promotion and assist with the creation of content for pitches and teach-ins
  • Work with the quantitative analyst group on matters specific to PE funds and PE sponsor-initiated transactions
  • Collaborate with resource attorneys in other practice groups on best practices and overlapping initiatives
  • Field day-to-day requests from attorneys for precedents, templates, and other resources
  • Be involved in resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience in a US private equity corporate/transactional practice
  • Basic understanding of private equity, including M&A, portfolio company management, partnership-based equity compensation, M&A acquisition financing, and general corporate and financial transactions
  • Mastery of the substantive area of practice undertaken by the Private Equity practice group
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills
  • Strong intellectual ability, interpersonal skills, and technical skills
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

 

Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
