The role will focus on fostering investor relations and providing exceptional client service, managing and overseeing the execution of venture investments. The Senior Counsel will often act as the partner-level resource on deals, with a team of associates supporting their efforts.

 

Duties:

  • Foster and maintain investor relations, providing high-quality client service.
  • Manage and oversee the execution of venture investments, acting as the lead counsel on deals.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on ECVC matters, including structuring investments, due diligence, and negotiation.
  • Review and draft legal documents, including term sheets, investment agreements, and shareholder agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Mentor and supervise junior associates, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in ECVC law.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in California.
  • 8+ years of experience in ECVC law, with a strong focus on investor-side work.
  • Proven track record of managing and executing venture investments.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in California.

 

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of ECVC law and venture investment processes.
