Job Title: Tax Manager - Business Tax Services - Healthcare Tax Exempt
Location: 19 locations across the United States
Salary Range: $84,980 to $193,440 (may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location)

Position Summary:

- Seeking experienced Tax Manager to join Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice, with a focus on serving non-profit clients in the healthcare industry.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse range of non-profit organizations, providing tax compliance and consulting services.
- Half (potentially 100%) of time will be spent working with non-profit clients, with access to a strong support system from firm leadership.
- Will work closely with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country.

What You'll Do:

- Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
- Advise clients on a variety of tax issues including tax compliance, business restructuring, exemption strategies, philanthropic and charitable giving planning, and tax controversy.
- Oversee federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Provide technical training, leadership, counseling, and career guidance for engagement team.

The Team:

- Large national team of dedicated professionals serving non-profit organizations and sophisticated donors.
- Comprised of professionals with expertise in multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance, and transfer tax planning.
- Collaborates with colleagues in Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory on client projects.
- Cross-functional team, including tax, audit, and consulting professionals, from Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work in a hybrid model, with 2-3 days per week in-person.
- 5+ years of experience in federal taxation, with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations in the healthcare industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.
- One of the following accreditations: CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, or Chartered Financial Advisor/Certified Financial Planner.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for work.

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM.
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Strong understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, analysis, and research.
- Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Management experience and strong analytical skills.
