Position Summary:

The Lead Counsel, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) is a key role in the Regulatory & Specialty Legal team at Walmart. This person will be responsible for providing legal counsel and minimizing regulatory and legal risk associated with the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and firearm products at Walmart. They will work closely with various stakeholder groups across the company and serve as a subject matter expert on ATF legal issues. This role reports to the Senior Lead Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and mitigate regulatory risks associated with the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and firearm products
- Provide legal advice to merchants, compliance, and operators on various alcohol and tobacco matters
- Advise business leaders on legal issues and risk management related to the sale and delivery of alcohol and tobacco
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes that ensure regulatory compliance while meeting business needs
- Support the ATF compliance team in responding to changes in federal and state regulations
- Coordinate with senior legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership
- Escalate concerns and recommend plans of action for resolution and risk mitigation

Requirements:

- Subject matter expert in federal or state ATF laws
- Experience working on alcohol advertising from a regulatory perspective
- Experience working with senior legal and compliance stakeholders
- Process-oriented with a focus on streamlining for improved efficiency and effectiveness
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in large cross-functional teams
