# Insurance Tax Manager - United States

This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager to join PwC's Financial Services Tax practice and work with clients to meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. This role will help our Financial Services clients navigate the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions.

## Responsibilities

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

* Develop new skills outside of comfort zone
* Act to resolve issues which prevent the team working effectively
* Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development
* Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
* Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations
* Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations
* Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making
* Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients
* Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties
* Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarising key points
* Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

## Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Insurance Tax Manager role will have:

* Bachelor Degree in Accounting
* CPA or Member of the Bar
* 4+ years of experience in public accounting practices, internal domestic insurance tax departments or internal foreign insurance departments
* Thorough knowledge of the tax issues affecting either the domestic and/or international insurance industries
* Comprehensive technical skills in FAS 109, FIN 48, tax provision preparation audit and review, and corporate and partnership tax compliance
* Experience in identifying and addressing client needs, building and maintaining client relationships, communicating value propositions, managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections
* Experience as a team leader, supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, and coaching staff
* Knowledge of automation & digitization in a professional services environment
* Knowledge of alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools, to provide a point of view on pricing strategies
