A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney for its Irvine office. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, particularly in renewable power and energy transition. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will handle a variety of transactional matters involving sponsors, investors, developers, and lenders in the energy sector. This role requires expertise in drafting primary deal documents and managing complex diligence processes.

 

Duties:

  • Lead and participate in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements, financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Conduct complex diligence processes
  • Manage junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Interact with clients and provide high-quality work product

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the project development and finance group of a law firm
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and offtake agreements
  • Team-oriented with the ability to take on significant responsibility
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, busy practice environment

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars

 

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of energy project finance concepts
  • Ability to manage complex transactions and diligence processes
  • Effective communication and client interaction skills
