The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a range of complex litigation matters, with a focus on environmental issues, from initiation to final resolution. The individual must possess 3-5 years of litigation experience and be a licensed attorney in Maine in good standing.

Duties:

  • Manage litigation cases from commencement to final resolution, with a focus on environmental litigation, including energy, climate change, water, and land use issues.
  • Draft pleadings, propound and respond to written discovery, gather relevant/requested information from clients, and draft and argue substantive motions and briefs.
  • Defend/take fact witness depositions with limited supervision.
  • Day-to-day management of litigation matters, ensuring compliance with deadlines and meeting minimum billable hourly requirements.
  • Maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in Maine and in good standing.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is highly desired.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to work productively with all levels of firm staff.
  • Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
