## LAW STUDENT VOLUNTEER SUMMER 2024 ### Hiring Organization Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) ### Hiring Office SACRAMENTO IMMIGRATION COURT ### Location 650 CAPITOL MALL, SUITE 4-200 SACRAMENTO, CA 95814 - United States ### Application Deadline Sunday, February 11, 2024 The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is looking for volunteer legal interns for Summer 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for law students to gain an understanding of immigration law and procedure related to removal and deportation issues. Interns will have the chance to work with Immigration Judges, observe Immigration Court proceedings, conduct legal research, draft Immigration Court decisions, and write bench memoranda. The Court is flexible to different work schedules and interns will work under the supervision of Department of Justice attorneys. ### Qualifications * Strong research, writing, and analytical skills * Prior knowledge of immigration law and criminal law is helpful but not required * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, independent work environment * Successful completion of an FBI background check * United States citizenship ### Application Process Interested candidates must submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the internship, resume, transcript (unofficial acceptable), and a legal writing sample not to exceed 10 pages by e?mail to .
