A law firm in San Diego is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Junior or Mid-level Consumer Products Litigation and Regulatory Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of legal experience, exceptional academic credentials, and a particular desire to work on matters before the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and National Advertising Division (NAD). The role involves working collaboratively with clients and partners, focusing primarily on regulatory matters while also handling consumer class action litigation. Candidates must possess strong litigation and regulatory skills, including exceptional writing and analytical abilities, and must be licensed to practice law in California.

 

Duties:

  • Handle regulatory matters, including those involving the CPSC, FTC, and NAD.
  • Work on consumer class action litigation matters.
  • Conduct affirmative regulatory reporting and respond to regulatory investigations.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with consumer product safety statutes, regulations, and standards.
  • Review advertising claims substantiation.
  • Draft and prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and write memoranda.
  • Work on all aspects of disputes from inception through trial.
  • Support the team on business development and other litigation and regulatory-related matters as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of legal experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred.
  • Regulatory expertise involving the CPSC and FTC is ideal; a keen interest in learning about these regulatory agencies is required.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional litigation and class actions is strongly preferred.
  • Strong litigation skills, including case management, deposition-taking, oratory skills, and court experience preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.
