A law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney for its Atlanta, GA location. The attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of employment matters on behalf of employers, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience and will be comfortable advising clients and representing them before the EEOC and federal and state courts.

 

Duties:

  • Perform initial analysis and develop case strategy for employment matters.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests in a timely manner.
  • Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and attend hearings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing advice and counseling on employment law issues.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar of Georgia and in good standing to practice law.
  • At least 2+ years of experience handling employment matters on behalf of employers.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a solid academic background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Georgia.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to negotiate, research, and communicate effectively.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients in an advice and counseling role.
  • Experience representing employers before the EEOC and federal and state courts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
