- Mission is to promote the integrity and efficiency of the bankruptcy system for the benefit of all stakeholders
- National program with 21 regions and 89 field offices
- Broad administrative, regulatory, and enforcement authorities in bankruptcy cases

Job Description:
- Executive Office for . Trustees (EOUST) Law Interns: Must be available to work in-person in the Washington, DC office during internship
- Intern for the Office of the Director (OD) may work directly with either the Director or the Deputy Director for Field Operations
- Director oversees the USTP’s regions and field offices, manages resources, and sets and implements policies
- Deputy Director for Field Operations (DDFO) also a member of senior leadership and reports to the Director
- DDFO provides executive level direction and guidance to United States Trustees, leads the Office of Oversight and Office of Criminal Enforcement
- Interns will assist with projects and studies related to consumer and chapter 11 bankruptcy law, legal research, data analysis, fact-finding, and preparation for representing the USTP in different capacities
- Field Office Law Interns: Assist attorneys in preparing for bankruptcy court appearances, developing bankruptcy fraud referrals, and monitoring section 341 meetings between debtors and creditors
- Internships may be available for academic credit, as determined by individual field office

Qualifications:
- Second- and third-year law students with excellent research and writing skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work as part of a small team of professionals
- Committed to fairness and integrity in the administration of the bankruptcy system
- Background and interest in bankruptcy, litigation, administrative law, policy, and legislation
