Corporate Counsel - Real Estate AWS Infra Legal

Overview:

Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join the Real Estate team in support of Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading provider of IT infrastructure services. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and at least 8 years of legal experience, including 4 years at a law firm. They will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents, as well as providing legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members. The position offers a competitive salary and includes equity compensation.

Responsibilities:

- Draft and negotiate real estate transactional documents, such as leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and development agreements
- Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis
- Manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients
- Develop and implement process improvements across the team
- Resolve legal issues in existing commercial relationships
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 8+ years of legal experience as a transactional real estate attorney, with 4+ years at a law firm
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills

Compensation:

- Competitive salary based on experience and includes equity compensation
- Base pay ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market
- Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
- Total compensation package may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits
