Experienced Professional Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager for Trade and Compliance Policy to join their team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing advocacy strategies and policy initiatives in support of Amazon's policy priorities related to trade and trade compliance. The Senior Manager will work closely with other public policy teams, Legal, PR, and relevant business units to ensure alignment with business priorities and goals. The Senior Manager will monitor and report on relevant legislative and regulatory activity related to trade and trade compliance, develop positioning and mitigation/engagement strategies, and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in alignment with business objectives. This individual will also lead engagements with trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders on key trade and trade compliance policy issues. Key responsibilities for this role include: - Developing and executing advocacy strategies and policy initiatives related to trade and trade compliance - Monitoring and reporting on relevant legislative and regulatory activity - Developing positioning and mitigation/engagement strategies - Coordinating external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in alignment with business objectives - Leading engagements with trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders - Facilitating meetings between executives and key stakeholders - Building and fostering effective relationships and networks with others, including trade associations - Providing guidance and expertise on how technical language in legislative and regulatory proposals could affect corporate operations - Communicating complex information effectively to a wide variety of audiences - Influencing, negotiating with, and persuading others - Demonstrating strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen - Supporting a culture of inclusion and promoting work-life balance - Providing mentorship and career growth opportunities for team members The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant public policy experience, with a keen understanding of the US federal policymaking process and government relations. They must also have strong communication skills, ethical conduct, and the ability to work cross-functionally. A Juris Doctor or Master's degree is preferred.
