Amazon is looking for a talented attorney to join its Legal team and help support its rapidly evolving Books businesses. The Associate Corporate Counsel will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day and strategic advice on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters and products. This role will also involve structuring, drafting, and negotiating a variety of transactions. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

The compensation for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, Amazon is a total compensation company and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Amazon is looking for a talented attorney to join its Legal team and help support its rapidly evolving Books businesses. This is a great opportunity for an experienced attorney to make a real impact in a fast-paced, innovative company.

### Key Job Responsibilities
The Associate Corporate Counsel will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day and strategic advice on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters and products. This role will also involve structuring, drafting, and negotiating a variety of transactions. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

### Basic Qualifications
* JD from an accredited law school
* Membership in at least one state bar
* At least 2 full years of attorney experience at a law firm

### Preferred Qualifications
* Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
* Significant experience drafting transactional documents
* Ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment even in ambiguous situations
* Ability to work independently and also contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
* Ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company
* Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines
* Strong client-service and customer orientation

### Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market.
