A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Health Care Litigation Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience in health care litigation, medical malpractice defense, or relevant litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in federal and state court practice and procedure, as well as alternative dispute resolution, along with substantive experience in areas such as the False Claims Act, Stark Law, licensing inquiries, medical staff and hospital issues, or payor reimbursement.


Duties:

  • Handle health care litigation matters in federal and state courts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of health care law issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including mediations and arbitrations.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to the False Claims Act, Stark Law, licensing inquiries, medical staff and hospital issues, or payor reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and clients to develop case strategies and objectives.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting on a variety of health care law issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Manage and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in health care litigation, medical malpractice defense, or relevant litigation experience.
  • Strong experience in federal and state court practice and procedure.
  • Substantive experience in areas such as the False Claims Act, Stark Law, licensing inquiries, medical staff and hospital issues, or payor reimbursement is a plus.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • Solid law firm experience.
  • Superb research, writing, and communication skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
