A law firm based in Atlanta is seeking a talented Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have second or third chair experience and preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging patent litigation cases and requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the field.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of patent litigation cases, from inception to resolution.
  • Draft and respond to motions, pleadings, and other legal documents related to patent litigation matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on patent law issues.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics.
  • Assist with discovery, including document review and preparation for depositions.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Manage and organize case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar; admission to additional state bars is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience working on patent litigation cases, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Second or third chair experience in patent litigation is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred, but candidates with relevant technical backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of patent law and litigation procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Georgia State Bar; admission to additional state bars is a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Solid grasp of patent law principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.
