Job Duties:

  • Advise clients on their rights and draw up legal documents about their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients, guiding the best legal strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of court appearances, trials, drafting motions, and interviewing witnesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to analyze probable case outcomes based on legal precedents.
  • Effectively manage the workload of cases, ensuring timely and thorough representation for each client.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or refute prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, strategize essential case goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing Criminal Defense law.
  • Extensive experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, assisting and strategizing with fellow associates.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
