A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Technology Specialist to support its patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement analyses, as well as the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field and have the ability to provide valuable expertise to the firm's post-grant and patent litigation teams.

Duties:

  • Perform patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and/or non-infringement analyses, including claim chart construction as applicable.
  • Draft post-grant documents (., petitions, replies) outlining technical arguments.
  • Advise post-grant and patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific areas of expertise.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovative clients.

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 0-3 years of post-grant and/or patent prosecution experience preferred.
  • Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
  • Admitted to the . Patent & Trademark Office preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth patent analyses and construct claim charts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Legal admission to the . Patent & Trademark Office is a plus.
