Corporate Counsel - Join Our Legal Team at Trumark Homes!

Trumark Homes is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our legal team in San Ramon, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing company in the homebuilding industry. As a Corporate Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting our multi-divisional legal initiatives and providing counsel to our internal business partners. This position reports to the Chief Administrative and General Counsel and requires a JD with at least 7 years of transactional real estate experience.

Responsibilities:

As a Corporate Counsel at Trumark Homes, you will be responsible for:

Negotiating and drafting real property purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, trade and supplier contracts, development agreements, lending agreements, and other documents associated with real estate development and homebuilding
Reviewing and drafting contracts, discussing issues and priorities with the business teams and corporate leadership at various stages of each project
Drafting and negotiating subcontractor, architect, engineer, and supplier agreements
Drafting correspondence and reports summarizing research findings and offering guidance regarding liability
Partnering with revenue recognition, sales operations, technology operations, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes
Ensuring actions taken by the development team are prudent and supportive of a successful project
Providing proactive and strategic advice to help the development team achieve project objectives

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A and current admission to practice in California
7+ years of experience as a transactional real estate attorney, with a combination of law firm and in-house work preferred
The ability to operate with limited supervision, counsel senior business clients, handle challenging negotiations, develop and manage processes, and exhibit sound judgment
Highly developed analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
The willingness to develop skills in new areas and the flexibility to assist the operations team in its activities and mission as needs arise
A commitment to delivering high-level client service to internal departments and performing excellent work under time pressure
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with project development, project financing, real estate, construction, and/or environmental permitting preferred
Familiarity with project development, project financing, real estate, construction, and/or environmental permitting preferred
