Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with at least 4 years of experience to join their dynamic team in Tysons Corner, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in commercial loan transactions, particularly in areas such as multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and hotels.

Duties

  • Represent borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in commercial loan transactions.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate loan documents for various real estate finance transactions.
  • Manage legal due diligence, including examining organizational documents, ownership structures, titles, surveys, zoning, leases, and legal opinions.
  • Handle and oversee complex commercial real estate transactions from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in real estate finance.
  • Prior law firm experience is required.
  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders, and/or syndicated credit facilities is a plus.
  • Strong background in loans secured by multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and/or hotels.
  • Comfortable training and managing junior associates and paralegals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with an outstanding academic record.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to and in good standing with the Virginia Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents.
  • Ability to manage legal due diligence processes.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and hotel real estate finance.
  • Leadership and training skills for managing junior associates and paralegals.
