A law firm in Baton Rouge is seeking a Health Care Associate Attorney with 1-6 years of experience in healthcare matters. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more areas such as Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid billing and reimbursement, medical staff matters, physician contracting, clinical trials, compliance issues for healthcare providers, hospital/physician alignment, and transactional health law issues. Hospital counsel experience is preferred, along with strong academic credentials, excellent communication, and writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and advice to healthcare clients on various regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to health care laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents pertaining to health care transactions and operations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compliance programs for healthcare providers.
  • Represent healthcare clients in administrative proceedings and investigations.
  • Advise on matters related to medical staff issues, physician contracting, and clinical trials.
  • Assist with provider enrollment, licensing, and credentialing matters.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide guidance on hospital/physician alignment and transactional health law issues.
  • Stay updated on changes in health care laws and regulations affecting clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 1-6 years of experience in health care matters.
  • Strong understanding of health care laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
