A law firm in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to report directly to the Managing Attorney and collaborate with the firm's leadership team. The ideal candidate will assist in drafting motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents while maintaining strong communication with clients and attorneys regarding case status and documents.

Duties:

  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents under the supervision of the Managing Attorney.
  • Facilitate the delivery of discovery requests and ensure timely responses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and attorneys regarding case status and document requirements.
  • Assist with document review, revision, and filing in the case management system.
  • Prepare for hearings, trials, depositions, and other legal meetings.
  • Respond to discovery requests from clients and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain accurate case records, including client notes, case files, and attorney notes.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills to advance client interests.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team, managing attorneys and office staff.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5-20 years of experience practicing law, preferably in family law, with experience in civil litigation.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or pending admission with another US jurisdiction.
  • Strong legal drafting and research skills.
  • Excellent writing and public speaking abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to see assignments through to completion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and manage tasks with limited supervision.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar or pending admission with another US jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Legal drafting and research (5-20 years preferred).
