A law firm in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Personal Injury Attorney. The ideal candidate will manage all personal injury cases from inception to resolution. This role requires exceptional client interaction, strong communication and writing skills, and a solid legal background in personal injury law.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of personal injury cases from inception to resolution
  • Gather and review medical records and other pertinent documentation
  • Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel
  • Prepare cases for trial, including drafting motions, briefs, and other court documents
  • Represent clients in court, presenting evidence and arguing motions
  • Provide clients with legal advice and updates throughout their cases
  • Collaborate with legal team members and support staff to ensure effective case management

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi (passed the Bar exam on the first attempt)
  • In good standing with the Mississippi Bar Association
  • Strong background in personal injury law
  • Experience in personal injury litigation.

Certifications:

  • Bar certification in the state of Mississippi
  • Additional certifications in personal injury law are a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in legal research databases and case management software
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents
  • Exceptional client interaction skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and effective legal support
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
