Job Overview: A law firm in Irvine, CA, is seeking a skilled Commercial and Complex Litigation Associate Attorney with a focus on wage and hour litigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in defending against wage and hour claims, including class actions, and possess in-depth knowledge of California and federal wage and hour laws.

Duties:

• With a minimum of four years of experience, handle the defense of wage and hour litigation, particularly class actions.
• Demonstrate expertise in California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime regulations and meal/rest period requirements.
• Independently prepare and respond to written discovery in wage and hour litigation cases.
• Conduct depositions and have experience in motions related to discovery issues.
• Develop and implement discovery plans for wage and hour cases.
• Draft persuasive legal documents, including opposing motions for class certification.
• Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating professionalism and competence in legal and strategic matters related to wage and hour litigation.
• Maintain excellent communication and follow-through skills throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience handling the defense of wage and hour litigation, preferably involving class actions.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of California and federal wage and hour laws.
• Proven ability to handle written discovery independently and effectively.
• Experience with depositions and motions concerning discovery matters.
• Strong writing skills, particularly in drafting oppositions to motions for class certification.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients.
• Demonstrated professionalism and competence in handling client interactions and strategic litigation decisions.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.
• Any additional certifications or specialized training in wage and hour law would be beneficial.
