- Program Application Schedule: Fall semester for 1L, 2L, and 3L students
- Office of the Solicitor: Responsible for legal work of the . Department of the Interior
- Nearly 200 practicing attorneys in headquarters office and over 300 attorneys nationwide
- Diverse work load, including extensive litigation and program counseling
- Opportunities to advise agencies on legal aspects of their mission and participate in civil litigation
- Legal interns/externs conduct research on environmental, administrative, and Indian law issues
- Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and motions, and assist with discovery in active federal cases
- Attend conference calls and strategy sessions with other agency counsel and officials
- Strongly encourage Native American candidates to apply

Salary: Intern positions are unpaid, but eligible for Transit Subsidy Benefit Program

Qualifications:
- Must be a student (undergraduate, graduate, or law school)
- Must be enrolled at least half-time and in good academic standing
- First-year law students may apply after December 1 for internships the following summer
