Job Title: Attorney II - Work from Home in Southern CA Area
Department: Legal
Salary Range: $110,084 - $203,936 per year

Overview:

Mercury Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Attorney II to join our Southern California team. This position offers the opportunity to work from home while also requiring in-person court appearances and hearings/trials in the surrounding area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of insurance defense experience, including jury trial experience, and be a member of the California Bar.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal representation to Mercury and/or their insured in the defense of moderate to complex personal injury lawsuits
- Manage cases from initial stages of filing responsive pleadings through discovery and trial
- Develop and implement strategies for all stages of litigation, collaborating with claims partners and clients
- Direct legal support staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned work
- Conduct depositions, investigate/research, and evaluate cases for settlement, arbitration, and trial

Qualifications:

- Law degree and admission to the California Bar
- Minimum of 3-5 years of insurance defense experience, including jury trial experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a reasonable caseload
- Reside in the State and Region where assigned files are venued
