A law firm in Mandeville, LA, is seeking a highly motivated Education Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education law, particularly representing independent schools, charter schools, charter school management organizations, and other educational institutions. This role requires expertise in Labor and Employment law, with a preference for experience in Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Academically distinguished applicants with exceptional writing and analytical skills, along with deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience, are encouraged to apply. The Education Associate Attorney will serve as counsel to charter and private independent schools, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, creativity in problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to charter and private independent schools in education law matters.
• Handle litigation cases related to education, with a focus on independent and charter schools.
• Address legal issues pertaining to Title IX, Section 504, ADA, and other relevant Labor and Employment laws.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in depositions, discovery, and motion practice.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide effective legal solutions.
• Stay current with developments in education law and related areas.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Louisiana State Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience.
• Strong background in education law, with a focus on independent and charter schools.
• Familiarity with Title IX, Section 504, ADA, and other relevant Labor and Employment laws.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Experience in deposition, discovery, and motion practice.
