A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Tax Controversy Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in tax disputes, audits, litigation, and appeals. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in federal income and estate/gift tax issues, along with a strong academic background and excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with law firm, accounting firm, IRS, Tax Court, or Department of Justice (Tax Division) experience. Duties:

  • Handle tax disputes, litigation, audits, and appeals.
  • Provide legal counsel on federal income and estate/gift tax issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and courts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appeals.
  • Represent clients in IRS proceedings and Tax Court.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 4+ years of tax controversy experience.
  • Practical experience with tax disputes, audits, and appeals.
  • Strong academic and employment credentials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state (Georgia is a plus).
  • Degree in accounting, CPA license, or . in Tax (preferred).

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
