Do you want to work on projects that have an impact on all of Amazon's unique and cutting-edge lines of business? Amazon is looking for a Corporate Counsel, Construction to join their team and work with cross-functional stakeholders to support Amazon's Design and Construction teams. This position will involve structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements, managing outside counsel, and counseling internal business clients on construction agreements, project execution and delivery, developer, GC and supply chain management, and pre-litigation disputes. This is a great opportunity to make history and have fun doing it.

## Job Responsibilities

- Structure, draft and negotiate agreements
- Manage outside counsel
- Counsel internal business clients on construction agreements, project execution and delivery, developer, GC and supply chain management, and pre-litigation disputes
- Provide day-to-day business and construction law counseling
- Identify opportunities for and implement process improvements
- Administer and resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships

## Basic Qualifications

- . degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar
- 5+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as an attorney
- Experience managing complex construction contracts, project execution and delivery issues

## Preferred Qualifications

- In-house experience in a technology, Internet company, or real estate / construction company
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Practical legal and business judgment and ability to make recommendations to senior business leaders
- Strong written and oral communication skills

## Location and Compensation

The Corporate Counsel, Construction position is open to candidates to work out of one of two locations: Arlington, VA, USA and Seattle, WA, USA. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
