Position Summary:

Deloitte is currently seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional to join our Business Tax Services team as a Tax Manager. This role involves providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. As a Tax Manager, you will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage the tax engagement team, and access a network of specialists when needed. You will also receive support from firm leadership to ensure your success in the role and your career.

Responsibilities:

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients on various federal tax consulting and compliance engagements
- Advising clients on tax issues such as accounting for income taxes, FTA, tax provisions, compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates
- Managing engagement workflow, resources, and billing
- Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team

The Team:

Deloitte Tax LLP's Business Tax Services team is a dynamic group of professionals from diverse backgrounds. They provide expertise to clients to integrate tax strategy into their business operations while considering their individual risk profiles. The team consists of subject matter experts and industry specialists who offer services and solutions relevant to clients' businesses. They assist with global tax challenges and transform tax departments to create greater impact and efficiency within organizations. Their spectrum of services includes tax planning, compliance, controversy, risk management, research and development, government incentives, and tax management consulting.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model that requires co-location in person 2-3 days per week
- 5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- One of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions
- Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong management experience

Salary Information:

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The range estimate does not include geographic differentials and may vary depending on the location where the position is filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.
