# Multistate Tax Senior - Investment Management Tax

Deloitte is looking for an innovative, analytical Tax Senior to join the world's largest Multistate Tax practice and work on large, complex multistate tax projects. The successful candidate will provide state tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in the investment management industry.

## Job Responsibilities

* Perform detailed technical reviews of partnership and corporate state and local tax returns / work papers with attention to multistate tax issues
* Coordinate with clients’ internal tax teams
* Perform a detailed review of estimated payment, withholding and composite tax calculations as well as investor packages
* Research and analyze state tax legislation and assist with impact on compliance and investor reporting process
* Assist with tax consulting projects including tax planning, restructuring, and due diligence
* Assist with engagement workflow management and supervise tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements
* Mentor and develop talent in a diverse and inclusive workplace

## Qualifications

* Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week
* 3+ years’ experience in state income and franchise tax, or federal tax
* 2+ years’ experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers, income tax returns, and investment management or partnership taxation
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
* One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
* Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
* If not CPA eligible:
* Licensed attorney
* Enrolled Agent
* Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

## Preferred Qualifications

* Supervisory experience
* Public Accounting experience
* Experience in preparation and review of state and local or federal pass-through, corporate tax returns, Subchapter K, or partnership allocation methodologies
* Excellent research and writing skills
* Excellent presentation and communications skills

## Salary

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $68,180 to $144,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

Collectively, the team has significant experience with nuances of jurisdictions in all 50 states. Services offered include investment management services, state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy.

## Job Responsibilities

As a Tax Senior Consultant, you will be a valuable member on engagements and provide state tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in the investment management industry. You will grow your technical knowledge by working on large, complex multistate tax projects, and have access to outstanding resources as you continue to develop your supervisory and leadership skills. Your responsibilities will include:
