Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Patent Attorney with expertise in AI/ML technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and collaborating with inventors to assess patentability.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI/ML technologies.
  • Collaborate with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability.
  • Conducted and analyzed results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
  • Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning is required.
  • Experience with AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, optimization, preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments.
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
  • Registered to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active member and in good standing of CA Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
