# Tax Senior Manager - Financial Services Industries - Hedge Fund Tax

## Overview

Deloitte Tax LLP is searching for a Tax Senior Manager to join its Hedge Fund Tax team. The right person should have a solid understanding of Subchapter K related to hedge fund structures, financial products, and related tax adjustments, trader vs. investor determination, and identifying necessary federal, international, and state investor reporting. This position is suitable for those who are passionate about financial products, have experience in tax planning and returns, and are looking for a challenge in a fast-paced environment.

## Responsibilities

As a Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analyses for a variety of hedge fund clients and their affiliates
- Performing detail-level review of tax workpapers, allocations, and tax returns
- Performing research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities
- Coordinating and communicating with the client contacts to gather information
- Training, mentoring, and supervising seniors and new/experienced-level staff
- Attending required national and sector-specific training for your own development

## Qualifications

- 8+ years’ experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
- One of the following accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certified Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Demonstrated basic understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, wash sale and constructive sale rules, as well as familiarity with aggregate allocations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
- Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing while providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting

## Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,490 to $272,090. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
