About the Role: As a Trial Attorney at Farmers, you will be responsible for representing clients in legal cases involving all areas of tort practice. You will handle cases with unique legal or procedural issues, involving moderate to severe injuries and/or damages. This position will be remote, with a focus on cases in San Diego and coverage for Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Competently and ethically represent clients in assigned cases, handling all aspects of the legal process including preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs, attendance at hearings and trials, and performance of any other necessary tasks for proper representation. - Assist other attorneys in handling cases as assigned. - Functionally supervise attorneys assisting with assigned cases. - Consult with and provide opinions to the Claims Department on insurance policy and personal injury claim matters. - Keep supervisor informed of case progress and any issues encountered. - Maintain and update computerized litigation support systems for assigned caseloads. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and law school degree required. - Member in good standing of the State Bar in the state of California. - At least three years of experience as an Attorney, including civil jury trial experience or equivalent dispositive ADR experience. - Capable of handling cases of moderate to great exposure and/or complexity with minimum supervision. - Strong public speaking and ability to handle high case loads in adversarial situations. - Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
