A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with a focus on consumer collection litigation.

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal counsel to clients, advocating for them in court and out, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the consumer collection industry.

Duties:

  • Provide thorough and practical assessments and advice to clients.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to negotiate resolutions.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity by policies and procedures.
  • Travel to various courts in the State and manage all aspects of litigation.
  • Research laws, rulings, and regulations; formulate legal opinions.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships through responsive communication.
  • Attend continuing education classes to stay current with legal changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation process and consumer protection laws.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and utilize resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality work product.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
