Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel to clients, drafting legal documents, and managing various legal matters. They will also handle administrative tasks related to legal practice and demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Duties:

  • Consulting with clients to understand their legal needs and provide appropriate counsel.
  • Drafting contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Filing parentage cases with the court and handling related administrative tasks.
  • Occasional attendance at court hearings, typically remote.
  • Performing administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
  • Managing full matter and/or case-handling responsibilities effectively.
  • Undertaking any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice in California (or other states) and good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law practice is preferred.
  • Experience in family law is advantageous.
  • Outstanding legal writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in a PC environment with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Time Matters (or similar customer database systems).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, address issues proactively, maintain a professional attitude, and uphold integrity.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational prowess are essential.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California (or other states) is required.
