A law firm based in Charlotte is seeking a Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney with experience in estate planning, estate administration, charitable planning, and tax planning. Candidates currently enrolled in a Tax LLM program with relevant trusts and estates tax courses will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of prior law firm experience in the trusts and estates area.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Assist with the administration of estates, including probate proceedings and trust administration.
  • Advise clients on charitable planning strategies, including establishing charitable trusts and foundations.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize estate tax liabilities.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to trusts, estates, and tax planning.
  • Assist clients with wealth preservation and asset protection strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 1-3 years of prior law firm experience in trusts and estates.
  • Experience in estate planning, estate administration, charitable planning, and tax planning.
  • Candidates currently enrolled in a Tax LLM program with relevant trusts and estates tax courses will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including estate tax laws and probate procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

JD from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of trusts and estates laws and regulations.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
