A law firm in Denver is seeking a Healthcare Data Privacy Associate Attorney to join its global Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Digital Assets Practice Group. The candidate will play a crucial role in advising clients on various legal aspects related to digital healthcare privacy, data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital assets. The Healthcare Data Privacy Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel to clients on matters related to healthcare data privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and digital assets. The role involves working closely with global partners, leading projects, and interfacing directly with clients to ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local privacy and security laws.

 

Job Details:

  • Advise clients on digital healthcare privacy, data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital assets counseling and transactions.
  • Lead or assume significant responsibility for projects and work directly with global partners and clients.
  • Conduct compliance gap assessments and implement remediation plans.
  • Draft policies and procedures, including privacy policies, privacy statements, incident response plans, vendor contracting templates, and DPAs.
  • Provide legal counsel on contract and M&A negotiations.
  • Assist clients in determining compliance risks and priorities, implementing data protection compliance, and developing information governance programs.
  • Possess necessary healthcare industry experience.

 

Requirements:

  • . degree or equivalent.
  • Admission to practice and in good standing in any . state.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with meaningful knowledge of healthcare industry data privacy and security issues.
  • Incident response experience is desirable.
  • Digital healthcare and privacy experience are strongly preferred.

 

Certifications:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Specific certifications, including CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, and CIPM, are highly desirable.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of international, federal, state, and local privacy and security laws.
  • Familiarity with technologies supporting compliance.
  • Experience drafting privacy and security policies and procedures.
  • Industry experience with FDA, FTC, State AG guidance, GLBA, HIPAA, HITECH Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Working understanding of US-EU and US-Swiss Privacy Shield and state consumer privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA/CDPA/CPA).
