A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent for their Kansas City, MO location. The job entails:

Job Overview:

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications for clients
  • Conduct patent filings, due diligence, landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, and validity assessment
  • Support all aspects of Patent litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trials
  • Draft responses to rejection of patent applications from USPTO and other worldwide Patent Offices
  • Work with clients on innovative technologies to procure patent protection and build IP portfolios
  • Interact professionally with internal and external clients on all levels
  • Work as part of a global professional team
  • Concentrate on project management and pay close attention to project details
  • Establish and maintain internal practices, procedures, and technology for patent-related information
  • Demonstrate advanced writing skills and ability to research information for clear communication
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with lawyers, firm management, staff, and clients
  • Manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Work well under pressure and adapt to changing work priorities
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends
  • Diplomatically provide answers or question authority for greater clarity
  • Think creatively and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making capabilities

Duties:

  • Registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
