A law firm in Los Angeles is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 5-6 years of practice in the Labor and Employment Practice. The successful candidate will primarily provide advice and counseling as well as policy drafting services to firm clients, working with clients of varying sizes across different industries nationwide. The role requires expertise in compliance and counseling, strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to taking ownership of work and career development. The candidate should have significant counseling and meaningful litigation experience, with a substantive background in wage and hour matters. The practice involves providing advice and counsel to California, national, and international employers on various labor and employment issues, including wage and hour law compliance, leaves of absence, accommodations, personnel policies, employment agreements, and arbitration agreements.

 

Duties:

  • Provide advice and counseling services to clients on labor and employment issues.
  • Draft and review policies, employment agreements, and arbitration agreements.
  • Assess and draft employer handbooks and policies.
  • Collaborate with employers to identify and strategize regarding employment law compliance.
  • Work on meaningful litigation matters related to labor and employment law.
  • Address wage and hour law compliance, leaves of absence, and employee accommodations.
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail and take ownership of work and career development.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admission and good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 5-6 years of experience in the Labor and Employment Practice.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Substantive background in wage and hour matters.
  • Significant counseling and litigation experience.
  • Proven ability to draft employer handbooks, policies, and agreements.
  • Keen attention to detail and proactive initiative.
