A law firm in San Diego is seeking a Biotech Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years of experience, an advanced degree (.) in biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or microbiology, and a strong background in practicing before the USPTO. The candidate should also have an appreciation for organic chemistry and bioinformatics. Admission to the CA Bar and the ability to practice before the USPTO as a registered . Duties:

  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO
  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters related to biotechnology
  • Conduct due diligence in support of business transactions
  • Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio management
  • Stay abreast of developments in biotech and intellectual property law
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand and address their legal needs

 

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in biotech intellectual property law
  • Experience practicing before the USPTO commensurate with the candidate’s years in practice
  • Additional appreciation of organic chemistry and bioinformatics is desired

 

Education:
