Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and appeals
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on criminal law issues
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and memoranda
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and law enforcement personnel
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to reach plea agreements or settlements
  • Advocate for clients' rights and interests in court
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding criminal charges and legal proceedings
  • Collaborate with investigators, experts, and support staff on case matters
  • Stay updated on changes in criminal law and legal precedents
  • Maintain confidentiality and attorney-client privilege

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of California
  • Criminal law experience preferred
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Strong commitment to defending individuals accused of crimes

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of California
